Back to it

I haven’t done a Tuesday Slice in a while. My motivation kicked back in today as I read an article on msn on longevity in Japan. It basically comes down to this: What gets you out of bed in the morning? And if you don’t have a clue, you may want to reflect on it. In Okinawa, a group of islands south of Japan’s mainland, many people practice the art of ikigai – roughly translated – your reason for living. Suggestions to achieve this all-important goal include starting small and with care – develop/have a focus; Release yourself and practice self-acceptance; gain and maintain a sense of community; find joy in the small things; be in the here and now – practice mindfulness and staying in the present. Here’s to powering up your motivation and meaning and living your purpose.
